Claude Lorraine born in early 1600s is a French painter, who became the leading landscape painter in Italy. He is the greatest masters of ideal landscape painting. Through his work he seeks to present a view of nature more beautiful and harmonious than nature itself. In this painting represents Jacob’s journey to the land of Canaan which showcases its poetic nature of the country side of Rome and alluring grand castle that stands as the focal point of this painting.
